Design Education
As an adjunct instructor at Louisiana State University and Baton Rouge Community College, I taught seniors, many of whom went on to win local and regional recognition for work executed in our class. The syllabus I developed focused on integrated communications and connected students with real life design challenges. Classes were coordinated with CCELL (Center for Community Engagement, Learning & Leadership), Graduate Marketing, and LBTC (Louisiana Business & Technology Center). In addition, the classes were CXC (Communication Across the Curriculum) certified to improve written, oral, visual, and technological communication skills. Nearly all class clients, such as the Louisiana Old State Capitol, Cat Haven, and Delta Service Corps, adopted student work.
I've also enjoyed mentoring for the Baton Rouge Young Entrepreneurs program, teaching at MDA summer camps, and introducing elementary children to art.
Each and every one of my students have taught me SO very much!
Thanks for doing such a terrific job with the seniors this year!
—Rod Parker, Director of the LSU School of Art & Design

Veni, I just wanted to say thank you for the work you are putting in on these class projects.
I have heard nothing but great reviews. I want you to know that the LBTC and I are
onboard and willing to help with whatever you need.
The tenants are really happy with what your students are doing.

Thank you for the experience and for your insight and instruction this semester. I will definitely use things you've taught me in dealings with clients. We've written a questionnaire for clients regarding jobs which is making things smoother already, and I've become more confident and direct with clients through this experience. Thank you!!
—Brandon Routh, student
